Consumer goods manufacturer Combe is deploying Oracle Fusion to optimise supply chain planning with embedded AI across its global operations.

The deployment replaces country-specific enterprise resource planning platforms. Executed alongside Accenture Edge, the multi-year rollout coordinates production schedules, procurement workflows, and demand forecasting for brands including Just For Men, Vagisil, Astroglide, and Virtue.

Founded in 1949 as a family-owned enterprise, Combe sought to standardise accounting routines, curb overhead, and eliminate manual administration across separate national subsidiaries. Enterprise systems now span production facilities, order management pipelines, and financial reporting units to maintain a singular operational data pool.

Akshay Shetty, CEO of Combe, said: “For 77 years, we’ve focused on doing one thing exceptionally well: creating the trusted personal care brands and formulas our consumers know and love.

“As a third-generation family business, we’re deliberate about who we trust with that legacy, and we chose Accenture Edge and Oracle because they understood what was driving this change—our brands, our consumers, and our ambitions for growth.

“Together, we’ve built the visibility and agility to keep showing up for the people who rely on us, and to keep growing the brands they trust, for the next 77 years and beyond.”

Predictive planning across manufacturing and procurement

Supply chain planners face volatile retail order patterns and fluctuating inventory balances. Moving stock records and production schedules to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) allows Combe to calculate raw material requirements and production lead times against rolling demand projections. The platform flags impending material deficits before assembly lines stall. Teams adjust procurement volumes earlier in the production cycle.

Accenture delivered the program through Accenture Edge, a dedicated division serving mid-market enterprises with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion. Mid-market consumer brands often maintain distribution networks as complex as those at multinational conglomerates. They manage those supply operations with substantially leaner technology teams.

Srini Subramanian, CEO of Accenture Edge, commented: “Mid-market companies like Combe have many of the same ambitions as the world’s largest enterprises, but they need partners who can deliver at their speed, scale, and precision.

“This is exactly why we created Accenture Edge, to bring Accenture’s industry and technology expertise and best-in-class ecosystem partnerships to companies that are ready to reinvent. Together with Oracle, we helped Combe build a unified digital core that turns clean data and operational visibility into a foundation for AI.”

Agentic automation unifies enterprise records

Consolidating regional finance systems onto Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) gives corporate controllers immediate audit trails. Finance personnel eliminate reconciliation delays between localised sales divisions and central warehouses. Standardised accounting rules now run automatically across every regional operating unit.

Operational teams gain direct access to automated analytical tooling. The cloud environment incorporates Oracle Fusion Agentic Applications alongside native algorithms to complete routine logistical tasks automatically. Warehouse dispatchers can monitor order fulfilment speeds while procurement officers replenish inventory based on calculated thresholds rather than retrospective manual reviews.

Natalia Rachelson, SVP of Applications Development at Oracle, said: “Consumer products companies are navigating rapidly changing demand and supply conditions while managing increasingly complex global operations.

“By bringing finance and supply chain processes and data together on Oracle Fusion Applications, a single system of record, Combe can use embedded AI and Fusion Agentic Applications to help its teams automate more of the work required to respond and rethink its operating model.”

The completed migration links financial ledgers directly to physical factory outputs, providing Combe with powerful live inventory tracking across its global distribution channels.
